The EU, a global minnow.
This is an interesting analysis of how the EU is being sidelined globally as a lightweight and irrelevant. This was very evident in Copenhagen where as a block we were sidelined. We (Europe) may be the biggest economy and have pretensions to being a global power, but the reality is that picking a pair of unknowns to front the whole union post Lisbon, and the constant internal squabbles means we don’t have the international clout, and we have only ourselves to blame for this. The question is whether we will be doomed to irrelevance for the rest of this century or whether we can get our act together on the world stage?
