Two days worth of Rás updates. On Tuesday Kieran was on the stage from Tubbercurry. He was doing okay and had got through most of the stage when he was caught up in a crash at the bottom of Corkscrew Hill 10km from Lisdoonvarna. He was relatively unscathed, but lost some time. He finished the day in 77th and dropped 14 places to 63.

Today was the tough Lisdoonvarna to Templemore stage. This one was 162km, with 4 climbs and started out in brutal weather again. Unfortunately on the road to Tullamore Kieran was involved in another pile up. This time he didn’t come off as well. What I heard was that he has a swollen knee and has hurt his back. So he has decided that pull out of the Rás at the half way stage. It’s a bit dissapointing, but better safe than sorry.

I am hoping to have a few words here from the man himself tomorrow.
