Correction
After checking with the Chinese colleague who told me about “three squeak mouse” I now have to issue a correction.
This is actually known as “three SCREAMING mouse”. The mice are bred for this dish and are eaten shortly after they are born. This is why you can catch them with the chopsticks, because they are not yet walking.
Sliabh.net wishes to apologise for this regrettable error.

It still doesn’t sound any more palatable, to be honest.
would you ever be tempted seamus ? i’d give most dishes a try but i’d draw the line at tearing the head off an underdeveloped mouse
There was a time when I would have said I would try anything once. But after this week I am not to sure. We hve been well fed all week in Beijing. But sometimes you don’t want to know what it is you are eating, and some of the flavours are, well odd.
Ewwww…
Still, speaking as a vegetarian, I would like to think if I ate meat then the thought of biting the head off a baby mouse would not be unpalatable. If you can eat a steak you should be able to eat a mouse.
Speaking as a vegetarian.
Yeah, but steak isn’t wriggling when you put it into your mouth.
I draw the line at wriggling food!
mice are disgusting. why would you equate a mouse with a piece of steak?
the only useful purpose for mice is for testing cosmetics and drugs.
theres not much grub thats still alive in your mouth !
Hello,
I am involved in an edit war on Wkikipedia with a yank who keeps deleting my 3 squeak article, because he says I am making it up.
Can anyone point me towards a proof of the existance of this dish?
THanks
