In July of 2004 Mark and I went out to La Berarde for the second week of the MCI Alpine Meet. We were fortunate that it was the better of the two weeks for weather. I spent my time hiking around several of the local valleys and up to some huts. The weather was surprisingly good all week, a little cold initially but very warm the rest of the time. On Friday a group of us went skiing in Alpe d'Huez. The conditions were pretty good for Summer skiing. It was only that afternoon that we saw a thunderstorm in the campsite.
