Paracas Peninsula and Lima
After visiting the islands we travelled around the Paracas peninsula. Its a nature reserve and a major archeological site as well.
Flamingos Down near the ocean we got to see Flamingos. These are the ones that gave Peru the colors for its flag, with the red wings at the sides and the white body in the centre.
Walking by the sea cliffs we wandered into the caves and dodged the Pacific waves. Waves in a cave
Pisco Church But there was a plane ride from Lima to be had. So we loaded up the bags one more time and headed north. There was time to admire one of the churches in Pisco.
I had been to Lima before but it was a first for Edith and Bryan. We had a day or two to wander around and do some shopping. And my friend Christian was kind enough to show us his home town as well. Lima Street
Miaflores, Lima For those days we were to be found in the south of Lima in the Miaflores neighbourhood. This is the most wealthy and European part of the city. You could easily think you are in a Spanish city.

Each time I have been to South America I felt Lima was a good city to finish the trip in. Its just the right mix of the new and the old. I am not sure when I will be back there again. But I am sure that I do want to return. Someday soon...
